Job description

1. Working Hours
​
a) A basic week, which is rare, would be 40 hours with start times varying to suit the needs of customers and projects. Normal start would be 0800hrs but could be as early as 0400hrs, and if required could be any time during the day or evening.
​
b) We offer our customers a 24/7 service and can be called back to work and site at any time during the day and month, hence the need for total flexibility from potential employees. However, as this can be unpredictable, some months we can be called out once, and others over a dozen, at various times, including weekends.
​
c) We cannot always guarantee weekend work, but majority of the time we offer employees to work Saturday's and Sunday's, with hours ranging from 8hrs to 16+hrs.
​
d) Our factory is based in Tredegar, but we can be expected to visit and work at our customers sites in various parts of Wales/the West country, plus many other parts of the UK. We require our team to spend nights away for work, or training requirements, when needed.
​
e) Since we are a small business, we require all our team to have a flexible approach and the ability to be compatible with the other team members.
​
2. Job Outline
​
a) Experience with general ELECTRICAL work on a range of applications from: Industrial/Commercial/Domestic - working at both place of work and customers premises.
​
b) Trained persons with a minimum qualification in relevant City and Guilds, NVQ3, or equivalent in Electrical fitting.
​
c) Experience in 3 phase and control systems, distribution boards, cable installation and containment, such as trunking and conduit is essential.
​
d) Ability to read and understand electrical wiring drawings, and be able to terminate control and power cabling into control panels, junction boxes and motors is essential.
​
(d1)The willingness to undertake training if required in some mechanical operations if deemed suitable.
​
(d2) Ability to build and test motor control panels from wiring diagrams.
​
(d3) Ability to understand PLC, Pneumatics, and motor inverter control is desirable,
​
(d4) Ability to understand safety control systems such as safety relays and E stop circuits is desirable.
​
e) Experience of working in food and pharmaceutical industries.
​
f) Experience with, or knowledge of conveyor systems.
​
g) Fork truck and IPAF license is an advantage /or willingness to be trained in these operations.
​
h) Willingness to work at height as part of our operation. This could be either on scaffolding, ladders or powered machines (such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts etc).
​
i) Willingness to train as confined space operative (this is work we carry out but if candidates meet other requirements, then this could be considered at that time).
​
j) Willingness to be trained on new equipment the company invests in.
​

​
All employees will be provided with company branded work clothing, along with all PPE.

Standard rate is £15.50 - with Overtime rates being time and a half (1.5) and double time (2.0) - these will be explained fully if successful.
​
28 Day Total Annual Leave (21 days + 7 bank holidays).
​
